The MTS200 is a small machine that offers multi-process capability and high portability. The MIG process has historically been a workshop process with bulky base units and cumbersome wire-feed modules. However, the MTS200 has a smaller built in wire feeder that takes a 5Kg spool and matched with a lightweight torch and gas bottle makes the MIG process far more portable. A real benefit for structural welding applications on site.
There is nothing worse than a machine that has dozens of buttons and dials, the MTS200 has an incredibly simple user interface that consists of a single selector and screen. Changing process, current, volts and a whole range of other parameters are all done with ease without all the fuss of some alternative, overly complicated machines.
It’s very rare I need more than 200 amps and when I do it is normally in the workshop where I have access to bigger machines. The MTS200 provides more than enough power for over 90% of the applications I need a welder for, even in the workshop.
I loathe machines that have differing fittings from the industry norms, torches that don’t fit and plugs are 8 pin where I have a 10 pin socket. By design the MTS200 has standard euro fittings for MIG, standard TIG torch fittings and standardised power leads. A machine that gives me far less headaches is always a plus.
